The Recovery Rocks podcast is our ongoing love letter to the recovery community, mental health advocacy, and the power of music—especially rock' n roll. Lisa Smith and I launched our podcast in 2018, releasing new episodes every Friday. We even won a Signal Award for Best Buddy podcast in 2022! And ICYMI, we just released a card deck based on our podcast.
Our podcast focuses on the nuances of how sobriety intersects with everyday life. This year, we talked sobriety + nutrition with
, sober-friendly friendships with , alcohol + consent with , how to find a therapist with , and much more.We also interviewed the iconic Art Alexakis from Everclear about how “Father of Mine” spoke to me on a visceral level while I was growing up, raised by a single mom. Then, in a wild turn of events, my dad listened to that episode, resulting in some much-needed healing on both sides.
Mental health advocacy is power.
Conversation is power.
Music is power.
