Real Talk About Debut Author Life
Plus, upcoming events in DC and Philly
I’m Tawny, author of Dry Humping: A Guide to Dating, Relating, and Hooking Up Without the Booze, co-host of the Recovery Rocks podcast, and co-founder of the vinegar-based botanical beverage, (parentheses)
Last night I spoke on a panel about dry dating. Before that (literally moments before), I attended a panel about the future of the NA drink scene. I had one of those moments where I felt super-present to where I am in my life: I have a new drink in the emerging NA space, I’m an author who gets paid to speak on panels and sign copies of my book, and I live in New York Fucking City.
That’s the good part.
There’s also another side of the coin where I’m struggling with this transition. Yes, I’m “living my dream.” I’ve also never cried or slept more in my life. And I’ve never felt more confused.
I’m currently editing a reported essay about the reality of publishing a book and the roller coaster of emotions that come with being a debut author. Can’t wait to share it with y’all soon.

Upcoming Events
The last two stops on my book tour are in Philly (1/20) and DC (1/27). I’m speaking/signing books at both events as well as offering tastings of my brand new drink.
Much love,
So cool that you gave a drink! I need to try it! Love mocktails.
Your book is perfect for Urban Outfitters with their young adult target market. Congratulations! I'd love to read a book by you on how to be an advocate. You've been doing it your whole life and have many positive experiences to draw from. Thanks for the great links.
