Life is fucking hard lately. Is anyone else riding the struggle bus?
Here are some things I do when I need to be nice to myself:
💐Get fresh flowers for my desk
🛁Take a bath (with candles and bevvies and music, obvi)
🧖🏼♀️Hair mask/face mask
😭Let myself cry/scream into a pillow/release whatever emotion is bubbling up instead of “pushing through”
🧋Bubble tea (If you ever want to buy me a gift, plz buy me a gift card to Kung Fu Tea)
🥡Order takeout
📱Text/FaceTime a friend to ask how they’re doing. It gets me out of my head and lets me show up for someone I love
📚Stop reading a book if I just don’t like it
🎧Listen to songs that make me happy—especially on vinyl.
🗞️Less news. I want to stay informed, but I can’t hear/read Tr*mp's latest epithet without increasing my stress
📰Read print magazines and newspapers instead of doom-scrolling
🍽️Taking something off my plate
🆘Ask for help
What are your favorite nice-to-myself activities?
On the Pod
This week, Lisa and I talk about the specific challenges that addiction to the internet and phones bring. We “need” the internet and smartphones for our work and personal lives, but they can also take over, causing problems and stress through compulsive scrolling, checking social media, and diving down rabbit holes.
We talk about Internet and Technology Addicts Anonymous and the broad range of habits and behaviors it helps address.

I needed this post today. Also, thanks for the podcast conversation. I can't wait to check it out because it's the next big thing I'm hoping to battle.
Love this, because I always put pressure on myself to do and accomplish things before I do anything to make myself feel better. I like to paint my nails, read, take walks, listen to a favorite podcast, and drink pineapple Spindrift. Fully admit that I often default to browsing the internet and sometimes online shopping, but I’m trying to be more intentional about both.
