The database I used no longer exists, but Sarah recommends just doing a search for "virtual assistant" on IG, then you can find peoples' accounts/niches.
Once I start getting paid from my new full time gig, I’m 100% hiring a VA to help manage the map, my schedule, etc so I can work on my book proposal! Just have to find the right one for me.
These are great Qs! I'll answer them in a follow up piece. My initial answer is to "simply" trust 😂. I wrote this piece because the emotional side of outsourcing isn't really discussed. Neither is the whole asking-for-help part. This is all something I worked through with my therapist. Entrepreneurship is hard, y'all!
For contract: My VA provided her initial contract and she bills me monthly.
I’m thinking there must be some secure password manager application or something. Vs just emailing all the passwords?? Or dictating them over the phone maybe? And then how does one deal with two factor authentication?
So many questions, haha.
But yes, can’t wait for the follow up piece?
I totally trust the one I’m hiring as she’s the daughter of a childhood friend and I know she’s been raised right.
She uses LastPass with a lot of clilents. And there are some voice recording apps that are private. I'll follow up with her. Sounds like I'm pitching Business Insider a follow up piece!
PLEASE. I’ve searched for answers to this stuff and I guess I need to go on Reddit or Facebook groups cause haven’t found anything clearly laid out that sounds logical.
Especially the two factor authentication seems an issue.
After our initial log ins, we haven't dealt with 2-factor too much. And when we do, we make sure we're both available so I can text the code to her. There's gotta be an app/technology that allows two people to receive the code for situations like this right?!?!
SUPER helpful as I start to look into this service more and more!
10/10 recommend! LMK if you want an intro to my VA
Curious where you found her?

Congrats on the byline, and can't wait to read the piece!
Gracias mi amor!
Such a helpful article! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks bb!
VA-curious, kinda like BI-curious 😉
Exactly! And sober curious 😎

Love this! And yes finding the right one can be challenging but so worth it
Oh, I’m so glad you’re writing about this but because I’m just about to hire my first virtual assistant and feeling kind of clueless. Thank you!
Also do you have any more practical tips —like how to manage passwords, share applications, make a contract, or any other nitty gritty tips you have?
